My Father's House Southern Cuisine, Nyack, NY - A Taste of Authentic Southern Comfort Food

A small and cozy restaurant with amazing food, great portions and very pleasant and polite staff. I felt like a cliche ordering the fried chicken but it was definitely worth it. Would 10/10 recommend

Good food with reasonable prices. The water recommended the fried chicken, I enjoyed my dinner. There was a tenor sax player preforming when I went last saturday. If you are in Nyack I would eat here.

First of all I’m from Louisiana…so believe me when i say this spot was on point. Just a good Soul food restaurant. I had the Fried Whiting and side of mac and cheese. Fried fish was a 8 out of 10, batter on point, portion nice, only because it’s whiting and i prefer catfish. Mac and Cheese was a 10 out of 10. Oh and those honey biscuits were AMAZIN Recommend for sure!!

BEST FOOD I’VE EVER HAD! Out of all the reviews I’ve ever left on Google Maps in all my years using the app, this restaurant has become the greatest place I’ve ever eaten! It has also become the most friendly, caring, and unfathomably welcoming business I’ve ever been to. This place, as well as the workers, is something I will always remember and be grateful for. The staff here are the absolute nicest people, and their presence makes the ambiance feel perfect! The environment here is also amazing, with cutesy decorations and live music being performed! The food here is just heavenly. Pure perfection! The absolute most delicious chicken, fish, and okra I have ever had! I cannot thank the workers enough, especially Adrian (the owner), Imoni, and Delano enough for their amazing service and amazing hospitality!

I had 7:30 reservations on 4/5/25. The food was amazing. The people were great. The experience felt like once in a life time. God is a genius this place was definitely God's intentions. I almost want to keep this location to myself. However I promised the chef I will not be selfish lol ladies and gentlemen" don't be a stranger! Get dress and go get yourself a taste of nostalgia

Aye man, literally everything that was ordered was 10/10!! I got the chicken and sweet potato waffles with a side of mac, and my wife got salmon cakes and grits, also with a side of mac. The chicken was perfect! The waffles were soft with a nice crispy outer, and the mac was the type of baked mac I HOPE to get at a lot of these other places! The salmon cakes were flavorful and the grits were good. They also brought out these amazing warm biscuits and sweet potato muffins with I think honey butter. The mimosas are perfectly balanced and the service was also great. Friendly people. Overall 10/10. HIGHLY recommend. Personally… best brunch I ever had!

Hubby and I decided to have Valentine’s dinner here. We ordered the sampler platter along with Mac and cheese, collard greens. They provided sweet potato muffins and biscuits. Huge amount of delicious food for the price. Our first time there and will definitely be back.

This beautiful and cozy setting only added to the quality of our dinner experience. The sweet potato muffins were a pleasant surprise in the basket with biscuits. Both were drizzled with honey maple syrup. We enjoyed the okra hush puppies. My hubby loved the smothered pork chops. My order of shrimp and grits brought me back to my trip to Charleston. The staff was very attentive and it’s clear that there’s love and dedication cooked into every part of this little gem. Highly, highly recommend!!
